Hidden Treasures Academy receives a 2-year $120,000 grant for expansion of Job Skills Training Program

On average, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities report a desire to work, however up until this year, nearly 70% of the disabled population struggled with unemployment -- a statistic that had not changed the last 30-years.  Hidden Treasures Academy students have reversed that disheartening statistic and currently 92% of our students are employed or pursuing post-secondary education at Walter State Community College.  On February 5, 2019, the President delivered his second State of the Union Address.  In that address, he shared this encouraging news:  "Unemployment for Americans with disabilities has also reached an all-time low."   We are delighted that our organization has aided in lower that unemployment rate in the Lakeway area!

Hidden Treasures Academy named 2018 Non-Profit Business of the Year by the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce

The 2018 Non-Profit Business Award was awarded to Hidden Treasures Academy. Tracy E. Lewis and Rick Kopituk, Founders, accepted the award sponsored by Purkey, Carter, Compton, Swann & Carter, PLLC. Also pictured are representatives from Event Sponsors Life Care Centers of America, Wimberly Lawson Wright Daves & Jones, PLLC, HomeTrust Bank and Employee Benefit Specialists.

Students won First-Place in the Special Abilities Division during the Forge IV Regional Taekwondo Tournament in Gatlinburg.
